Nigeria: Unimaid Offers Scholarship to IIJ Oldest Students

Two oldest students of the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja have been presented with the University of Maiduguri scholarship.

In a statement from the institute, the awardees include Alhaji Halilu A. Kado and Mrs. Otu L. Mbua. They were given N100,000 each for defying age to achieve their academic dreams.

Speaking during the presentation, the Deputy Director of the institute, Mr. Nick Igwenagu, who represented the Director, Dr. Emman Sheu, implored the recipients not to relent in their quest to achieve higher ground in education saying that champions are made not born.

Registrar of the Institute, Mr. Afolabi Olusola, commended the Vice Chancellor of University of Maiduguri, Prof. Moh Daura, for finding it in his heart to initiate such an award.
