Ghana: MP Elect for Tano North Thanks Electorate

Sunyani — The Member of Parliament (MP) elect for Tano North Constituency in Brong-Ahafo Region, Freda Prempeh, has expressed gratitude to the electorate for electing her to represent them as their legislator.

Speaking to The Chronicle in Sunyani, Madam Freda Prempeh said: "I thank you all for the honor done me," admitting that though the work of a parliamentarian is not all that easy, she would not disappoint the constituents.

According to the MP-elect, she would do what is within her power to improve the standard of living in the constituency, with education and health being her major priorities.

Madam Freda Prempeh acknowledged the contribution of the constituency party officials, her campaign team and party faithful for working hard to achieve victory for her and the party in the constituency.

She promised not to be a legislator for only the people who voted for her, but for all the constituents as a good and effective mother.

The MP-elect for the Tano North Constituency called on members and supporters of the NPP to remain calm and resolute, and without any acts of violence to protect the peaceful atmosphere of the country, as the party prepares to go to court with credible evidence to challenge the results announced by the Electoral Commissioner.

However, Madam Freda Prempeh emphasised the need for the constituents to unite to develop the constituency to an enviable expectation, appealing to the constituents to work hard to fight poverty, filth, and diseases which served as a major bane to development.
