Maputo — Members of the National Business Council of the CTA met on October 31, in Maputo, to reflect on the issues that affect the private sector in the country.
At the meeting, the Minister of Finance, Manuel Chang, spoke about the Mozambique's tax system and incentives for investment, focusing on infrastructure development projects, while the Minister of Energy, Salvador Namburete, focused his presentation on energy as a factor ofgrowth through public-private partnerships.
Speaking on this occasion, the President of the CTA, Rogerio Manuel, said that this meeting occurred shortly after the publication of the last "Doing Business" report, he referred to: "our country has moved from 139th in the 2012 ranks to 146th in the 2013 ranks, this contradicts our expectations for the continuous improvement of our position within the countries of the Community of Development Southern Africa".
A Memorandum of Understanding between the Federation of Contractors and building materials companies was also signed during this meeting.
