Maputo — The first session of the CCT - a tripartite body comprising representatives of government structures and organizations representing employers (CTA) and workers (CONSILMO and OTM-CS) - was held on March 5, attended by Prime Minister Aires Aly, President of the CCT and Minister of Labour Maria Helena Maria, Vice- Minister of Education, Arlindo Chilundo, President of the CTA, Rogerio Manuel, General secretaries of CONSILMO, Jeremias Timane and OTM-CS, Alexandre Munguambe.
The following points were discussed: • Submission of proposals for adjusting minimum wages in 2012; • Assessment of Regulations on Labour Law: mining work, private security, rural labour, workers'compensation and occupational diseases, domestic work, artwork, port work; • Presentation of the common Qualifier of technicians, employees and workers.
During the first session, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the government, unions and employers for vocational training.
This initiative aims at addressing the need to continually invest in human potential and in professional education to meet the needs of large companies.
