Kenya: Coast Awards Sixth Edition a Success

Once again Coast personalities including journalists, entertainers and deejays were feted at the 6th edition of Kenya Coast Music Awards held at Mombasa's Club Mzooqa.

The event saw Star reporter Elkana Jacob scooping the surprise investigative photojournalist of the year beating other Photojournalist from various media houses.

Other winners were Citizen TV host Mwanahamisi Hamadi and KTN's Ali Manzu taking the best female and male TV host award respectively.

Gospel artistes Willy Paul and Mercy Lai took the artistes of the year award. Secular artiste Kidis took the male artiste of the year and Petra the female award.

Big Brother finalist and rapper Prezzo kept the fans entertained, with his collabo song My City My Town with reggae artiste Cannibal.

The organisers also included a category for blogs which was won by Mashav written by Gates Mgenge of Pwani Fm.

The colorful gala was attended by Mombasa governor aspirant Suleiman Shahbal, Coastal Films CEO Hassan Faisal among others.

The awards was founded by Julia Achieng popularly known as Beyonce and Michael Otieno aka Dj Lenium six years ago and seeks to recognise and celebrate the achievements of Coastal people in the entertainment industry.
