Kenya: Gang Kidnaps Awendo Teen
By Manuel Odeny, 21 December 2012
Police in Awendo are looking for gang that attacked and kidnapped a 16-year-old boy from their homestead. The boy's sister said her brother was cleaning their compound when they heard his cries for help.
They ran to the assistant chief's office to get help but found him missing when they came back. She said the gang that kidnapped her brother is the same that attacked them six months ago.
"They set the houses on fire and chased us out," she said. Migori deputy police chief James Mwangi asked the relatives to avoid speculating that the boy is dead because there is no evidence that points to that.
