Nigeria: Nations Cup - Nsofor Cautions Eagles On Opponents

As Super Eagles Chief Coach,Stephen Okechukwu Keshi gets set to name the Europe-based players he expects to join their home-based colleagues for the team's training camp in Portugal, the team's winger and Locomotive Moscow player, Victor Obinna Nsofor has cautioned the team to be wary of thir opponents in the Africa Nations Cup next month.

Nsofor, who last played for the Eagles over a year ago said even though he has confidence the Eagles will do well at the competition, he would advise the team to take all their opponents with all seriousness.

"I always have the confidence that we can do well but the most important thing is for us to pray for each other, playing with commitment and being fully aware that there is something at stakes because Nigerians are craving for this trophy for a long time now, so I believe Nigeria can win the trophy.

In the game of football nowadays, everybody is a threat and so they have to take all opponents with all seriousness but I don't want to start mentioning names but we all know the big countries when it comes to football in Africa", he told Brila FM radio in Lagos.

Nsofor, who once starred for Italian club, Chievo said even though no invitation has been extended to him by Keshi for the Nations Cup camping exercise, he would "still do my best to support the team" when hostilities start in South Africa.

While nursing hope of being invited to join the team's training, Nsofor said, "It's been a year since I haven't been invited to play for the Super Eagles but right now am on holidays and am still expecting a call but my chances are very slim".
