Six people were injured on Friday in clashes that erupted between Islamist protesters and their opponents at Alexandria's al-Qaed Ibrahim Mosque.
The injured were transferred to Ras al-Tin Hospital for treatment, Mohamed al-Sharqawi, deputy Ministry of Health in Alexandria, said.
The protesters and their rivals hurled stones at each other around the mosque as police forces fired teargas to disperse them.
The police also set up a security cordon between the two sides to prevent clashes.
