Tunisia: President Marzouki On Visit in Kébili

Kebili — Caretaker President Moncef Marzouki, who is presently visiting the governorate of Kébili, went Friday morning to the site of the planned hot water pomping station located in the village of Ain Guizi in Om Somaa, province of Souk Lahad, 15km northwest of Kébili.

He was briefed about the plan, its technical specificities and its contribution to reduce the cost of water and power meant to the oasis of Om Somaa, extending over 104 hectares.

This plan, whose cost is estimated at 40 000 dinars, is financed by French company SOITEC specialising in the energy sector.

The President enquired on the occasion about the concerns of local residents who claimed their right to development and employment as well as the reduction in the cost of irrigation water.
