Kenya: Governor Hopeful, Town Clerk Clash

Mombasa governor aspirants yesterday held a debate at the Swahili Cultural Centre in Mombasa town. This forum was to give each hopeful a chance to tell residents what their aspirations are for the county.

However TNA's Gharib Suleiman who is councilor for Tononoka found himself on the spot when he claimed only four of 24 municipal clinics are operational

Mombasa town clerk Tubmun Otieno vehemently denied the allegation saying "this is an electioneering period and politicians will say anything to sell themselves." Otieno said all 24 clinics are open to the public and serving as they ought to.
