Kenya: Cord Holds Strategy Meeting in Naivasha

Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Trade minister Moses Wetang'ula yesterday led Cord in a strategy meeting in Naivasha.

The alliance exuded confidence that it will form the next government saying they will announce their full line up on Saturday during their rally at Nairobi's Uhuru Park.

The leaders drawn from parties allied to the alliance went into a two day retreat at the Great Rift Lodge. ODM chairman Henry Kosgey termed the two day retreat as very important as "key decisions will be made ahead of the Saturday rally".

He was however coy on whether they have agreed on who would lead the alliance saying that this would be announced during the rally. Joint government chief whip Johnstone Muthama said issues of their presidential candidate and his running mate had been solved.

"We are past the issue of our presidential candidate and running mate and the names will be announced on Saturday," he said. Present in the hotel were ministers John Munyes, Dalmas Otieno and MPs Bifoli Wakoli, Eseli Simiyu, David Musila and former MP Omingo Magara.
