Egypt: Interior Ministry to 'Firmly Deal With Rioters' After Alexandria Clashes

Minister of Interior Ahmed Gamal al-Din ordered on Friday security officials in Alexandria to "firmly deal with rioters", the Ministry's official Facebook page said.

Clashes erupted earlier today as Islamists and their rivals hurled stones at each other in the area surrounding al-Qaed Ibrahim Mosque.

Police forces tear-gassed the protesters in an attempt to disperse both sides.

Six people were injured in the scuffles.
