Angola: 14.000 Police Officers to Secure Festive Season in Luanda

Luanda — At least 14.000 police staff belonging to specialised units of general command of National Police in Luanda started, over the last 24 hours, an operation to ensure security among residents before, during and after Christmas and Year-end festivities.

The fact was confirmed by the provincial commander of police, sub-commissioner Dias do Nascimento, who was speaking at a meeting with members of commission tasked to secure festive season in Luanda, under guidance of governor, Bento Francisco Sebastião Bento.

To this purpose, the senior police officer advised the residents to abide by the order, direction and details provided by police staff.

The meeting gathered, vice governors, provincial directors, representatives of fire department, national police and administrations of Luanda, Belas and Cazenga as well as the representatives of companies, namely EDEL, ELISAL and EPAL.
