Masaka bar and lodge owners have dismissed a security directive by Resident District Commissioner Chris Owor Odoi, to close their premises at 11pm.
They say the directive is intended to kill their businesses. Odoi recently ordered all bar, lodge and nightclub operators to close by 11pm, to guard against terror threats. The directive also emphasized that lodge residents should be registered and local council heads asked to do spot checks on them anytime. Odoi threatened to arrest and charge anyone defying the directive.
