The inaugural Naivasha Tens lived up to its word attracting hundreds of revellers to the Oserian grounds over the weekend.
The event was sponsored by among others The Star newspaper and EABL and attracted 16 teams with Eldoret and Naivasha RFC among the new entrants.
Roasted meat and beer flowed freely during the colorful event that brought colour to the quiet town. The Star sponsored Blue Print RFC emerged the overall winners beating Eldoret RFC 17-5 in an entertaining final with their forward Eric Ombachi being declared the most valuable player.
The secretary of the Kenya Rugby Union Jack Okoth said plans were underway to bring in regional teams to the tournament next year.
He also said that plans were underway to hold more tournaments in other towns and pointed to Nanyuki as a possible destination.
