Angola: Minister Sets Goals for Technology Sector in Coming Years

Luanda — The Minister of Science and Technology, Maria Cândida Teixeira, presented on Friday in Luanda the key guidelines of development for the technologies sector in the coming five years.

The official said to the staff of her ministry during the year-end greetings ceremony in Luanda.

Maria Cândida Teixeira said that the governance programme for science, technology and innovation was developed to accomplish the mission of the ministry, establishing a set of general principles and guidelines on the new paradigm of the technological development.

The minister pointed out as priority the development of the strategic sector such as the domains of agriculture, farming, silviculture, fishery, manufacturing industry, oil, trade, energy and water, among others.

Capacity building, increasing number human resources in sciences, technology and innovation, create and reinforce scientific research institutions, develop techniques and innovation at the levels of infrastructure and mechanisms for supporting technological science and innovation are other priorities in the plan.
