Luanda — The country's Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, attended on Friday evening Miss Angola2013 election gala at Luanda's Belas Conference Centre.
Accompanied by the Angolan first lady Ana Paula dos Santos, the Angolan President followed the ceremony which ended with the election of student Vaumara Rebelo, aged 21, from Luanda.
Suely Afonso (Luanda) and Irene Bândua (Huambo) were elected first and second runners-up, respectively.
Ana Mabiala (Cabinda) won the trophy of best typical clothes; Edmara de Oliveira (Huíla) got the prize of Miss Photogenic, while Fátima Joaquim (Kwanza Norte) was elected Miss Friendly.
The gala was enlivened by the Angolan singers Yola Semedo, Eddy Tussa, C4Pedro and the Brazilian artist Vanessa da Mata.
