Enyimba and Rangers have shunned the temptation of breaking for the holidays as they step up their build-up for the new season.
Six-time champions Enyimba have set up a residential training camp in Ota, near Lagos, while Rangers have been perfecting strategies at their base in Enugu.
Enyimba coach Imama Amakapabo told MTNFootball.com that the players are in high spirit and good form in Ota camp even though they will not have the chance to wine and dine with friends and family during the Christmas.
"The players are in good form and spirit now. We want that to be maintained, so there is no Xmas break for us, we will celebrate here in camp," Amakapabo told MTNFootball.com
Enyimba missed out on a major trophy for the second straight season and have embarked on a massive re-organisation as they aim to reclaim lost glory.
In Enugu, Rangers will also not be part of the festivities and the players are grumbling that besides the hard work, they do not have the cash as they are yet to be paid. "We do not even have the money to keep body and soul together," complained one of the players.
However, 'The Flying Antelopes' tried to cheer themselves up as they sang Xmas carols after training on Friday.
