The European Investment Bank (EIB) pledged 270 million euros in loans to finance youth employment, SMEs and infrastructure projects in Tunisia's poorest areas, the bank said in a Thursday (December 20th) statement.
The loans will be provided in two tranches, with the first 170 million disbursed before the end of 2012 and the second of 100 million euros to follow in 2013. The bank has financed nearly half a billion euros worth of projects in Tunisia since the revolution.
