Only 24 out 44,198 eligible children under the age of five rejected the on-going immunisation against the wild polio virus in the FCT, Executive Secretary, FCT Primary Health Care Development Board (FCTPHCDB), Dr. Rilwanu Mohammed, has said.
He revealed this when he led a team of officials yesterday on a three-day mop up operation and said about 94 per cent coverage of the immunisation has been achieved.
He said 96 percent of the world's reported cases of wild polio virus are in Nigeria and so far there has been one confirmed case and two suspected cases of polio in the FCT since the last case was reported in Dobi Village in Gwagwalada area council of the FCT.
