Two clubs have opted out of the 2012/13 Nigeria National League (NNL) season and their slots have been taken over, supersport.com can report.

The clubs are Makwada FC and Bridge Boys.

NNL chairman, Emeka Inyama confirmed that the clubs have sold their National League slots which will come under new ownership.

He revealed that Lagos-based club, Bridge Boys will be replaced by Fountain FC.

Makwada FC's slot in the National League has been bought over by Adamawa United, which got relegated to the Nigeria Nationwide League (NNWL) last season.

"Bridge Boys and Makwada FC have had their games for this weekend postponed. The reason being that their slots have been taken over. Fountain FC, a club based in Ekiti, has bought over the position of Bridge Boys while Makwada sold theirs to Adamawa United.

"So we have decided to give both clubs one week to finalise paperwork because they just came to us (the NNL) today (Friday) for registration," said the boss of Nigeria's second tier league.

The games involving JUTH FC versus Makwada FC and Bendel Insurance versus Bridge Boys have been postponed as a result of this development.
