Egypt: Minister - OAPEC Meeting in Cairo Sends Message That Nation Is Stable

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Osama Kamal said the convocation of the 89th round of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC) in Cairo drives home a strong message to the world at large that Egypt is strong and stable.

Addressing a press conference following the meeting, Kamal said a symposium will be held on heavy oil in Cairo in 2013.

Kamal added that an agreement was reached - during his recent visit to Jordan-on implementing contracts for providing natural gas to Jordan.

He underlined the depth of Egypt-Jordan relations, saying Jordan welcomes Egyptian workers, whose conditions should be legalized in the country.

A number of Arab oil ministers and delegations from the UAE, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Libya, Bahrain and Egypt attended the OAPEC meeting.
