Egypt: Vice-President Mekki Tenders His Resignation

Vice-President Mahmoud Mekki tendered his resignation on Saturday 22/12/2012.

In his resignation letter Mekki noted that he tendered that resignation in November but it was not accepted. The Israeli attack on Gaza delayed the whole issue, Mekki said.

Mekki stressed in a statement that he realized that the nature of politics does not suit his professional background as a judge.
