Prime Minister Dr. Hisham Qandil issued a decree appointing Dr. Atef Abdel Hamid as Chairman of the Atomic Energy Authority for four years as of 15/12/2012.
Abdel Hamid has held the post of deputy chairman for the Research Projects at the Authority. He is well versed in the authority's files topped by running the first and second Anshas research reactors with full capacity for producing enough radioactive isotopes to reduce importing them from abroad.
