Angola: Women MPs Appeal for Society's Support to Creating Law On Elderly People

Luanda — The chairwoman of the Female MPs Group, Cândida Celeste, on Sunday here appealed to the Angolan society to support and co-operate with the National Assembly in the elaboration of the law that guarantees greater security and privileges to elderly people.

Speaking at a Christmas party at the Beiral Shelter Home, in Rangel District, in Luanda, Cândida Celeste explained that lately the parliamentarians have been discussing the creation of a Bill on Elderly People, so she hopes that the whole society will support this initiative.

The official also said that the Female MPs Group shows solidarity with senior citizens, making an effort to ensure that they lack nothing.

"This is the time to reflect about our future and send messages to the families to say what is important, fraternise with elderly people, be able to learn about their role and convey to our children and grand-children the idea that we all can reach that age", she emphasised.

The Female MPs Group took to Beiral Shelter Home a donation comprising foodstuffs, hygiene material and gifts that were distributed to the senior citizens.
