Egypt: Water Future Faces Risks - Minister

Minister of Irrigation Mohammed Bahaddin said that Egypt's future of water is faced with many risks with the rising population and the ensuing growing need of water in industrial, agricultural and trade fields "given our limited resources of water," the minister said.

In a word read out on his behalf by Tareq Qotb the first assistant minister of irrigation- celebrating the launching of project for assessment and follow-up of water resources in Egypt and North Africa- the minister called on the citizens in these countries to economize on water consumption to tackle the problem of water shortage.
