Angola: Six People Detained Over Damage During Demonstration

Luanda — Six people were detained in Luanda on Saturday for damage to property during a demonstration in the Angolan capital, Angop learned Monday here.

The information is contained in a press note released by the National Police.

According to the source, the Luanda Command of the National Police escorted a crowd of about 100 demonstrators who marched from the Independence Square.

During the demonstration, the note reads on, a number of demonstrators showed inappropriate behavior with throwing stones and hard objects that resulted in the damage of vehicles and blocking of roads.

Police then intervened with crowd dispersion means to restore order, the note states.
