Egypt: PM Kandil Urges Political Powers to Cooperate With Govt

Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Kandil urged on Tuesday all political powers to cooperate with the government to build the elected state institutions according to the newly-approved constitution.

Political powers have to cooperate in order to urge the people to "give the country a chance ... for economy to recover so that the development and social justice everyone seeks prevails," Kandil said.

The Higher Elections Commission earlier announced that the constitution was approved by 63.8 percent of voters.

"The winner in this referendum is the people ... there is no loser in this referendum," Kandil added.

"This constitution will be a constitution for all ... the masses will benefit from the articles that protect rights and public freedoms ... and establish rules and foundations for building a democratic society," he said.
