Tanzania: Stage Set for Msondo, Sikinde

DANCE music bands Msondo Ngoma and Mlimani Park Orchestra will renew their rivalry when they climb on one stage in a much-anticipated Christmas duel at the Equator Grill, Temeke on Tuesday.

The show is set to decide the king of the year 2012 between the long standing bands and will start at 3pm until dawn. Both bands have vowed to stage a stunning show for their revelers as they seek to outshine each other on the stage and prove that they are still the forces to reckon with.

Msondo Ngoma leader Said Mabera said that they would perform all their hit songs to ensure that they silence their sworn rivals. "We have prepared well to outclass them," Mabera said. Msondo supporters should brace themselves for best hits such as 'Nimuokoe Nani', 'Zarina', 'Mwanaidi', 'Kanjelenjele', 'Bahati', 'Sesilia', 'Usiue Usiibe', 'Asha Mwana Seif', 'Kauka Nikuvae', Chuma Chikoli Moto', 'Kilio cha Mtu Mzima', 'Ajali' and 'Suluhu', to mention but a few.

Msondo Ngoma is currently formed by Shaaban Dede, Mabera, Abdul Ridhiwani Pangamawe, Saad Ally 'Mashine', Eddo Sanga, Huruka Uvuruge, Zahor Bangwe, Ibrahim Kandaya, Ismail Mapanga, James Mawilla, Muhidini Gurumo, Eddo Sanga, Juma Katundu, Hamisi Mnyupe, Roma Mng'ande 'Romario' and Hassan Moshi.

A lot of firework should also be expected from Sikinde, whose leader Habibu Jeff believes that his side would emerge victorious. "We have good singers and musicians plus new instruments. Only time will tell," Jeff said. He vowed to conquer the stage with old and new hits. He named some of their old songs as 'Selina', Wikiendi', 'Penzi la Fukara', 'Hiba', 'MV Mapenzi,' while new tracks are 'Supu Umelitia Nazi' and 'Jinamizi la Talaka.'

The band is formed by Hassan Rehani Bitchuka, Hassan Kunyata, Kaingilila Maufi, Tonny Karama, Shaaban Mabuyu, Habib Abassi, Juma Choka, Ally Jamwaka, Athumani Kambi, Mbaraka Othman, Milambo, Shaaban Lendi, Joseph Benard and Ramadhani Mapesa. The show has been organized by Keen Arts and Bob Entertainment under the sponsorship of Konyagi, a brand of Tanzania Distilleries Limited (TDL).
