Zambia: Flooding Issue Persists

The rains have hightened, falling almost everyday but local authorities around the country have not sorted out the issue of flooding.

For example, in Ndola, the town centre and some residential areas, still remain flooded after a heavy down-pour and this has brought alot of concern to the motorists and residents alike.

Local authorities should consider looking at this manacing problem which exposes their inconsistency every year when the rainy season sets in.

Authorities should also address the issue of some residents setting up their "tuntembas" right on drainage system facilities.

Nab drunk drivers

The Road Traffic officers should close in on some erring minibus and taxi drivers who have devised a new way of taking alcohol after the ban of the infamous Tujilijilui (Totapaks).

These culprits are now using drinking bottles to pack their spirits which they have continued to abuse day in and out, posing a danger to the lives of hundreds of commuters who use their vehicles.
