Defense Minister Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi stressed on Monday 24/12/2012 that the Egyptian army is the real guarantee of security in the country and that the Armed Forces are only biased to the people's interests and not part of any political conflict.

Sisi praised the role played by the Armed Forces in securing the polling stations during the referendum on the draft constitution.

He noted that the army secured the vote on Egypt's new constitution out of a belief in their patriotic role, adding that the Egyptian army is the real guarantor of the country's security.

The gathering was attended by Armed Forces Chief of Staff Sidqy Sobhy and other military leaders.
