Namibe — The club of the State-run water distribution firm (EPAL) in Luanda Monday won the national chess champion with 13 points, as part of the seven rounds played between 17 and 24 December in Luanda.
1º de Agosto Club ranked second with 13 points, while Polivalente came third (10) and Misto de Huila, debutant in the competition, finished last with two points.
In the individual category, Fernandes Domingos of Polivalente won the national championship with 6,5 points, followed by his colleagues Baltazar Celso (6) and Felix Claudio (5,5), while Simião João finished in the last position of the event contested by 31 players.
In quick competition, João Simões of EPAL won with 6 points, followed by Pedro Andre of 1º de Agosto (5,5) and José Cambando (Polivalente) with the same number of points came third.
