Angola: Government Announces New Cleaning Model for Luanda

Luanda — The governor of Luanda Province, Bento Bento, announced Wednesday the implementation of a new model of collecting solid residues as from January, in order to keep the city cleaner.

This announcement was made at the end of a visit by the governor to the premises of the Cleaning and Sanitation of Luanda Company (ELISAL), which aimed to analyze the hygienic condition of the city in the festive season.

According to Bento Bento, to improve the collection of solid residues in the city, the government will implement a new model in January, which includes the reduction of the areas of coverage by each operator, as well as pay the cleaning firms per cleaned surface, to pursue the activity more efficiently.

For this reason, he said, the Provincial Government will organize a tender, to allow more operators of solid residues collection to join the existing ones in the market.
