A UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) driver has appeared before a Lusaka magistrate's court on charges of killing a Patriotic Front (PF) cadre Chrispine Menyani Zulu.
Mr Zulu was killed on November 8, this year during a local government by-election in Rufunsa. Isaac Zulu of Kalamazi Farm in Chongwe yesterday appeared before Lusaka Resident Magistrate Willie Banda for the explanation of the murder charge.
Isaac is charged with one count of murder contrary to section 200 of the penal code of the Laws of Zambia.
It was alleged that Isaac, 46, on November 8, this year did murder Chrispine Menyani Zulu.
Mr Banda told Isaac that he was only appearing for the explanation of the charge pending further instructions from the director of public prosecutions (DPP) to have the matter committed to the High Court.
Isaac would appear again on January 7, next year for another mention.
