Angolan Students in China Celebrate Christmas

Wuhan — About 600 Angolan youths studying in Wuhan City, located over 200 kilometres from Beijing, China, celebrated Christmas over the last weekend, thus holding the traditional Christian feast earlier.

The Christmas feast, which was organised by the Chinese Sonyhidro Corporation Ltd company (sponsor of the Angolan students in China), aimed at creating moments for fraternization and interaction among the participants.

The reception included dances and songs performed by some of the students, as well as the distribution of gifts.

The ceremony was also attended by the first secretary of the Angolan Embassy in China, Ana Bela Saudades, who represented the ambassador Garcia Bires.

On the occasion, Ana Bela Saudades thanked the referred Chinese company and appealed to the students for commitment to their respective courses.

This is the first training project being sponsored by the Chinese firm for the Wuhan University, in sequence of which, in 2013, Angola will gain about eighteen new graduates in civil engineering.

In the ambit of this project, there are about 200 Angolan citizens attending various courses in Wuhan University.
