Egypt: Tourism Ministry to Sponsor 20th Int'l Marathon in Luxor

The Tourism Ministry will sponsor the 20th Egyptian International Marathon to be held in Luxor on January 18.

Such an international event would help in encouraging tourism in Egypt, Tourism Minister Hisham Zazou said on Tuesday 25/12/2012.

Attracting nearly 2000 long-distance runners from around 36 countries, the International Egyptian Marathon takes place annually in the city of Luxor, along the famous ancient monuments of the West Bank of the River Nile and through the sugar cane fields of the local farms in Upper Egypt.
