Former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer, Coach Joe Erico has called for fairness and understanding for national team coach, Stephen Keshi whose list of 32 for the pre-2013 Afcon camp has been attracting various reactions from football circles, home and abroad.

Erico said, "as far as I am concerned, Keshi's list is commendable. He is in charge and I can't fault his judgment because he knows what is good for him. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt"

The former Nigeria international said it was too early to criticise the coach's choice because the final squad had not been selected yet.

"They are just going for camping and most importantly, they will be playing a friendly match against Catalonia to test the team. The players and the coaches know it will be a big test for them," Erico reasoned.

On what he thinks the final squad would look like given the calibre of players invited by the coach, Erico said, "obviously, we will have a good team," and to the players he charged, "whoever is called upon should always give his best. It is a national call and, it is special to play for one's country."
