Angola: Singer Edna Mateia Seeks Sponsorship to Record First Album

Huambo — The singer Edna Mateia last Tuesday in this city revealed that she needs financial sponsorship to record and publish her first album.

Speaking to ANGOP, the singer said she needs the sponsorship to materialise her long-time dream, which is to release an album.

She also said here songs are mostly sung in styles such as semba, Kilapanga and kizomba, adding that she has been working with the musicians Justino Handanga, Albano Sikuete, Israel, Victor Bil and Severino.

Edna Mateia, who was born in the central Huambo Province, learnt to sing in the children's choir of the Congregational Evangelic Church of Angola (IECA). She started her career in 2005, after winning the provincial singing contest in the "best Female Voice" category.
