Angola: Winning of Gold Medal in London Paralympics Marks 2012

Luanda — The winning of gold medal in the London Paralympics Games by José Sayovo leads a handful of achievements of the Angolan Paralympics Committee (CPA) in 2012, under its activity plan of national competitions and international participations.

At the International level, emphasis goes on the Paralympics with six athletes with highlight in the gold medal (400 m) and bronze (200 m) won by José Sayovo.

The CPA athletes snatched in July a gold medal, one silver medal and the equal number of bronze by Esperança Gicasso in the CPLP games held in Portugal.

In SADC games held in December in Zambia, the Angolan Serafina Selussinga won three silver medals.

The CPA is led by Leonel da Rocha Pinto (president) and António da Luz (secretary general) fulfilled with established programme of the aid and control visits to the provinces of Uíge, Bié, Huambo, Cabinda, Kwanza Norte and Lunda Sul.
