Mauritania: Ould Salek Received By President

Nouakchott — The Personal Envoy of the President of Republic, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, was received Monday in Nouakchott by President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz.

"I conveyed to His Excellency Mohamed Ould Abdelaziz, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania a letter from his Saharawi counterpart, in which he congratulated him on his recovery and return to the country", the Minister of foreign said to SPS.

The letter also refers to "recent developments in the ongoing peace process in Western Sahara and the situation in the region," added Ould Salek.

Head of Saharawi diplomacy said that his visit to Mauritania "comes within the framework of regular consultations between the two countries linked by relations of fraternity, friendship and good neighborhood."

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mauritania, Mr. Ambassador Hamadi Ould Hamadi, Advisor at the Saharawi Ministery of Foreign, Ambassador Hamad Ahmed Yahia.
