Nigeria: Borno Constructs 150 Boreholes

The administration of Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno state has drilled 150 boreholes in different communities to provide potable water for the people since its inception in May 2011. This is contained in a statement issued on Wednesday in Maiduguri and signed by Alhaji Mai Sheriff, the commissioner for Water Resources. Sheriff said the government also rehabilitated about 250 non-functional boreholes during the period, to boost the availability of portable water for both human and animal consumption. (NAN)
