Gambia: NBR Chiefs Applauded for Promoting Peace

Nbr — The governor of North Bank Region (NBR) has commended district chiefs for the important role they play in promoting peace and stability in the country.

Lamin Queen Jammeh was speaking recently in Njaba Kunda during the inauguration ceremony of the Central Baddibu chief, Alhagie Jagne. According to him, chiefs are very instrumental in the dispensation of traditional norms and values. He therefore called on the new chief to uphold to the local Government Act and the constitution in executing of his functions.

Chief Ebrima Tamba Jammeh of Illiassa and Chief Jim Fatma Jobe of Jokadu, both thanked President Jammeh for promoting traditional norms and values.

Chief Alhagie Jagne also thanked the presidentfor the trust and confidence bestowed on him and assured of his full support to the development aspiration of the APRC. He also commended the people of Central Baddibu for demonstrating their solidarity and support while calling on the people to rally behind President Jammeh in his development endeavours for the country.
