Gambia: Dr. Njogu Bah Is New Information Minister - Acting SG Appointed

Dr. Njogu L. Bah, the secretary general and head of the Civil Service, who was also the minister for Presidential Affairs, has been appointed as the new minister of Information and Communication Infrastructure with effect from Monday, 24th December 2012, a press release from State House revealed.

Meanwhile, State House also announced that Bala Garba Jahumpa has also been appointed the minister responsible for National Assembly Matters in addition to his appointment as minister of Health and Social Welfare while Madi Jatta has been appointed acting secretary general and head of the Civil Service with effect from December 24th, 2012.

The release reads: The general public is hereby informed that His Excellency the President of the Republic of The Gambia, Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, acting under the provisions of Section 71(1) and 73(3) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, has re-assigned the following: Dr Njogu L Bah as Ministerof Information and Communication Infrastructure; Hon Bala Garba Jahumpa as Minister responsible for National Assembly Matters in addition to his appointment as Minister of Health and Social Welfare.

Meanwhile, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, president of the Republic of The Gambia, acting upon powers vested in him under Section 168 of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, has appointed Mr Madi Jatta acting secretary general, and head of the Civil Service with effect from 24th December 2012".
