Gambia: Madi Jatta Is Acting SG, Njogu Bah Reassigned

President Yahya Jammeh Monday effected a minor cabinet reshuffle, bringing in veteran educationist Madi Jatta as acting Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service.

A news release from the presidency, aired on GRTS, also announced that President Jammeh has reassigned Dr Njogu L. Bah as the new Minister of Information and Communication Infrastructure.

Njogu Bah was until Monday the Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service, as well as Minister for Presidential Affairs.

In the same vein, President Jammeh has also reassigned Bala Garba Jahumpa as Minister responsible for National Assembly Matters in addition to his appointment as Minister of Health and Social Welfare.

Until his appointment as the new SG, Madi Jatta was permanent secretary No.1 at the Office of the President.

Jatta had earlier served in various ministries, including the Basic and Secondary Education, Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology ministries, and at the Independent Electoral Commission, IEC.
