Angola: Matala Development Programmes Highlighted

Matala — The municipal administrator of Matala (Huila Province), Miguel Vicente, on Thursday here highlighted the importance of the governmental programmes aimed at boosting the development of this municipality, with emphasis on programmes such as Municipal Intervention, Public Investments and Fight against Hunger.

Speaking at the yearend greetings ceremony, the administrator highlighted the rehabilitation of the Matala Hydroelectric Dam, whose works started in 2012, and the construction of a shipyard, among others.

He pointed out the resumption of the train circulation, both for passengers and cargo, as well as the start of the construction of a secondary school with twenty classrooms.

Miguel Vicente also stressed the importance of a 200-house construction project currently underway in Huila Province, in the end of which the Matala Municipality will gain 20 new residences.
