The Kaduna State House of Assembly, yesterday, approved the appointment of former Nigeria's Ambassador to Poland, Ambassador Audu Nuhu Nyam Bajoga as the deputy Governor of the State.
The State Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, on Monday wrote to the State Assembly seeking their approval to appoint the former Ambassador who doubles as the chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to occupy the vacant office following the demise of the former governor, Late Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa.
Twenty seven out of the 34 member House were at the emergency sitting convened by the deputy speaker, Dr. Dogara Matoh.
Majority Leader of the House, Mr. David Gurara read the letter of the Governor seeking members approval to appoint Nuhu Bajoga as the deputy governor in line with section 191 (3) of the CFRN.
Before the confirmation of the Governor's nominee, members of the House had noted that youthfulness with the wisdom of the old would give an excellent balance in moving the state forward.
At the floor of the house, member representing Kudan constituency, Hon Danfulani Dan-Inna moved for the confirmation of Bajoga as deputy governor which was seconded by member representing Makarfi constituency, Hassan Juma'are.
