Angola: Culture Official Calls for Preservation of Tourist Sites

Longonjo — The culture official in the municipality of Longonjo, some 64 kilometres west of Huambo city, Aurélio Luciano, Thursday here appealed for the preservation of local tourist sites and making them attractive.

Speaking to Angop, the official said that many residents do not attach due importance to the tourist sites of the municipality, which affects their preservation.

"All tourist sites that the municipality has have been deserving a special attention on the part of the administration. Cleaning campaigns have been conducted to tell the residents to keep these places neat as they constitute people's cultural asset," he said.

There are seven tourist places registered in Longonjo. Four are situated in the municipality headquarters, and one in the localities of Catabola, Chilata and Lépi.
