Huambo — The commander of the central military region, general Manuel dos Santos Hilário, Thursday in the highland Huambo province recognised the engagement of staff in the construction and demining process of roads and bridges.

The commander said so at the year-end greeting ceremony.

The general Manuel dos Santos Hilário said that the combative preparedness and patriotic education of staff were carried out with success in 2012 in the region.

He said that in 2012 the central military region improved its infrastructure, the unit of general barrack located in Ngove sector in order to contribute to the better conditions of accommodating soldiers.

As for 2013, the region's military command centre intends to improve the organisation of the activities of the units.

It will also focus on the increase of capacity and combative preparedness, as well as control of personnel, weapons and support the governments of the provinces of Huambo, Benguela, Bie and Kwanza Sul.
