Nigeria: NDLEA Decries Youths' Drug Abuse

Uyo — Acting Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Akwa Ibom state Mr. Alfred Adewumi has expressed worry over increasing involvement of youths in drug abuse. Speaking yesterday in an interview with our reporter in Uyo Adewumi expressed dismay that the drug abuse sub-culture has taken a wider and frightening dimension in the society. He said the frightening number of youth's involvement in socially prohibited drugs such as cocaine and others informed the agency's decision to partner with parents in the fight against illicit drugs in the state.
