Nigeria: NCF Invites 26 Players for African T20 Division 1 Tourney

Lagos — Nigeria Cricket Federation, NCF, has invited 26 players to Phase 1 Camp ahead of the forthcoming ICC-Africa T20 Division 1 Tournament taking place in Kampala, Uganda, in mid February next year.

Trustsports gathered that after an intensive camping and trials, which hold from 2-16 January next year, at least 16 players will be shortlisted to represent Nigeria at the African championship.

In a released made available by George Wiltshire, Chief Operating Officer, COO, of the NCF in Lagos yesterday, national team captain, Endurance Ofem, who plays for Ibeju Lekki Cricket Club, tops the list. Others are Kunle Adegbola, Demola Onikoyi, Emmanuel Okwudili, Segun Olayinka, Jide Bejide, Lekan Awolowo, Seye Olympio, Ramit Gill, Saheed Akolade, Ricky Sharma, Joshua Ogunlola, Osita Onwuzulike, Isaac Okpe and James Chukwu.

The list also include Ayo Mene-Ejegi, Chimezie Onwuzulike, Dotun Olatunji, Siji Onikoyi, Chukwudi Mgbojikwe, Yusuf Gershon, Joshua Ayannaike, Jaymin Parab, Harpreet Singh, Emmanuel Gowon and Daniel Ajekun.

Wiltshire disclosed that Coach Uthe Ogbimi, a former Nigerian international, who has won many caps for the country, will be in charge at the camp.
